💭 What is Cherry Vodka?
This Cherry Vodka is a plain vodka that has been infused with the flavor and color of sweet red cherries.
That's it!
There are a number of commercially available brands that sell cherry flavored vodka: Smirnoff, Effen, Pinnacle, Veil, just to name a few. What does my cherry vodka have that these store bought varieties don't? Fresh flavor and gorgeous color, for starters!
📝 Ingredients
This infused vodka only requires TWO ingredients. See the recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities.
- Cherries: You can use fresh pitted cherries or frozen cherries, according to your preference. I used sweet red cherries, but you can also feel free to mix things up and use a different kind of cherry.
- Vodka: Select a good vodka, but not one that's top shelf. You want it to be drinkable, but you also don't want to break the bank.
🔀 Substitutions or Variations
- Use frozen cherries. You can also use frozen cherries instead of fresh to infuse your vodka.
- Use a different kind of cherry. I've only tested this recipe with sweet red cherries, but you can infuse whatever kind of cherry that you prefer. It will likely alter the flavor and appearance of the vodka.

⚒️ How to use Cherry Vodka
This homemade Cherry Vodka is useful in so many different cocktails. My Vampire's Kiss Martini is a cherry martini that's perfect for a spooky Halloween celebration (or any time, really).
It would also be a welcome addition to my Cherry Vodka Sour. Heck, you could even make a cherry version of my Vodka Collins!
❓ Recipe FAQs
Yep! You can use frozen or fresh cherries.
Let it infuse for 3-5 days. You can taste it along the way and stop infusing when you're happy with it.
It should keep just fine at room temperature for about 6 weeks and in the fridge for about 3 months.
Ultimately, use whatever you prefer. I'd advise you to use something that's good but not great. Think: Smirnoff, not Belvedere.
