This is, without a doubt, the best Strawberry Vodka. Making it at home is so easy, and the end product is such a delicious and beautiful way to make use of sweet strawberries. Sip on it straight or add it to mixed drinks!

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

It's very easy to make. This recipe almost couldn't be easier; it's a pretty hands-off recipe!
You can use it in many cocktails. Use it in any cocktail that your heart desires!
It only requires two ingredients. Only two!

What is Strawberry Vodka?

You could probably guess this, but strawberry vodka is just a vodka that has been infused with the flavor of strawberries. This one also takes on the vibrant color of the berries, too.

There are a number of commercially available brands of strawberry vodka out there on the shelves. You've probably seen Smirnoff, Pinnacle, Effen, Beattie's, Svedka, etc.

While convenient, those store bought brands got nothin' on the fresh flavor and gorgeous red color of my homemade strawberry vodka!

Ingredients

This recipe only needs TWO ingredients. They're pictured and discussed below. See the recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities.

ingredients for making strawberry vodka.
  • Strawberries: You can use either fresh or frozen strawberries, according to your preference. Talk about convenient!
  • Vodka: When it comes to infusing vodka, you want to use something that is of good quality (like Smirnoff or Tito's), but not necessarily something of very good quality (like Belvedere). Basically, you want to use something that you enjoy drinking, but you don't need to break the bank on something top shelf.

Substitutions or Variations

  • Use frozen berries. You can use fresh OR frozen berries for this recipe.
  • Use different fruit(s). If strawberry vodka drinks aren't your bag, you could always make raspberry vodka, cherry vodka, or whatever flavor your little heart desires. Maybe get a little crazy and use a variety of fruits.

How to make Strawberry Vodka

a mason jar full of sliced strawberries.
Step 1. Place the sliced strawberries in the container in which you'll be infusing.

Step 2. Add the vodka and seal the container. Keep it in a cool, dry place for 3-5 days, giving it a gentle swirl on occasion.

Step 3. Once the vodka is done infusing, strain out the strawberries and discard them. Notice how they've lost a lot of their color - it's in the vodka now!

Step 4. Store the strained vodka in an airtight container in the fridge or at room temperature.

Strawberry Vodka Cocktails

Want to know how to use this homemade infused vodka in a drink? Need a strawberry vodka cocktail?

My Strawberry Vodka is a lovely addition to a number of different cocktails. You could totally use it in my Strawberry Lemonade Vodka Cocktail to really amp up the strawberry flavor. Maybe use it in a Strawberry Vodka Martini?

Or follow the recipe for my Cherry Vodka Sour and sub in some of this strawberry vodka and some strawberry simple syrup.

Recipe FAQs

Can I use frozen strawberries instead of fresh?

Yes! You can use frozen strawberries, if you prefer.

How long should I let the strawberries infuse into the vodka?

Allow the strawberries to infuse into the vodka for 3-5 days. You can taste it a bit along the way and stop whenever you're happy with it.

How long will this infused vodka keep?

It should keep well for about 6 weeks when stored at room temperature, and for about 3 months when stored in the fridge.

What kind of vodka should I use?

Use something that's good, but not too good. You don't need to use top shelf vodka, but you also don't want to use something that you wouldn't want to drink on its own.

Equipment

  • Bottle for infusing
  • Strainer

Ingredients

  • 1 pint strawberries
  • 750 mL vodka

Instructions

  • Wash, hull (if using fresh), and quarter the strawberries. Place them in the container that you'll use for infusing.
  • Add the vodka to the container. Store it in a cool, dry place for 3-5 days, giving the container a gently swirl every now and again.
  • Once the vodka has infused to your liking, strain the strawberries out and discard them.
  • Continue to store the vodka in a cool dry place for about 6 weeks or in the fridge for about 3 months.

Notes

  • 1 serving = 1.5 ounce shot of vodka
  • The photos in this post depict a half batch, whereas the recipe is written for a full batch.
  • Use whatever brand of vodka that you prefer. I like to use something that's good, but not great. There's no need to reach for the top shelf vodka here.
  • Use frozen or fresh strawberries, depending on what you prefer.
