Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon peppermint extract

Instructions

  • Combine the water and sugar in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for a few minutes.
  • Add the peppermint extract, then turn the heat off.
  • Allow the syrup to cool completely before storing in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • You can extend the shelf life of this syrup a bit by adding about ½ an ounce of plain vodka to the syrup
