Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 peach pit removed and chopped

Instructions

  • Combine the water and sugar in a heavy bottomed saucepan over medium high heat.
  • Whisk occasionally until the sugar dissolves completely and the syrup comes to a simmer.
  • Add the chopped peach to the syrup and give it a good mix to ensure that the peach pieces are submerged in the syrup.
  • Turn the heat off and allow the syrup to cool completely.
  • Strain the peach pieces out of the syrup and store it in the refrigerator in an airtight container.

Notes

  • You can extend the shelf life of this syrup a bit by adding about half an ounce of plain vodka to the syrup
