Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ pint blueberries fresh or frozen

Instructions

  • Combine the water and sugar in a heavy bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Whisk to combine.
  • Bring the water and sugar to a boil, then reduce the heat so that it is simmering.
  • Add the blueberries and whisk a bit. Continue simmering with the blueberries in the syrup for about 10 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and allow the simple syrup to cool completely.
  • Strain out the solids and store the syrup in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

  • You can extend the shelf life of this syrup a bit by adding about half an ounce of plain vodka
