- 1 cup water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ pint blueberries fresh or frozen
Combine the water and sugar in a heavy bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Whisk to combine.
Bring the water and sugar to a boil, then reduce the heat so that it is simmering.
Add the blueberries and whisk a bit. Continue simmering with the blueberries in the syrup for about 10 minutes.
Turn off the heat and allow the simple syrup to cool completely.
Strain out the solids and store the syrup in an airtight container in the fridge.
- You can extend the shelf life of this syrup a bit by adding about half an ounce of plain vodka
