Ingredients

  • 2 cups lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 cups orange juice freshly squeezed
  • ½ cup simple syrup see notes
  • 750 mL tequila
  • 375 mL triple sec
  • lime salt for garnish (optional)
  • dried orange slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Combine the juices, simple syrup, tequila, and triple sec in a pitcher. Mix well.
  • Pour into individual glasses with ice, garnished as desired.

Notes

  • I highly recommend using freshly squeezed juices. You just can't beat the flavor that fresh juice brings to the table.
  • You can add more simple syrup if you prefer a sweeter margarita, or if your oranges aren't terribly sweet.
  • Use your favorite tequila (or mezcal, if you want a smoky cocktail).
