- 1 cup water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Combine the water and sugars in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Whisk occasionally until it comes to a simmer.
Add the cinnamon sticks, whisk, and simmer for 10 minutes.
Turn the heat off, add the vanilla, and whisk again.
Allow the syrup to cool completely before removing the cinnamon sticks and storing the syrup in an airtight container in the fridge.

- To extend the shelf life a bit, you can add 0.5 ounces of plain vodka to this syrup. Store it in the fridge in an airtight container.
