Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Combine the water and sugars in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Whisk occasionally until it comes to a simmer.
  • Add the cinnamon sticks, whisk, and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Turn the heat off, add the vanilla, and whisk again.
  • Allow the syrup to cool completely before removing the cinnamon sticks and storing the syrup in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

  • Make sure to store this syrup in an airtight container in the fridge.
  • To extend the shelf life a bit, you can add 0.5 ounces of plain vodka to this syrup. Store it in the fridge in an airtight container.
