Equipment

  • Heavy-bottomed saucepan
  • Wet measuring cups
  • Dry measuring cups
  • Whisk
  • Glass bottles for storage

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup pomegranate juice
  • ½ orange juiced (optional)

Instructions

  • Combine the sugar, pomegranate juice, and orange juice in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Whisk to combine.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer, whisking occasionally.
  • Once the sugar has dissolved into the juices completely, turn the heat off.
  • Allow the syrup to cool completely before storing it in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

  • Grenadine syrup often calls for orange flower water, but it's not exactly an easily accessible ingredient. A bit of orange juice can work as a substitute.
