Grenadine Syrup

- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup pomegranate juice
- ½ orange juiced (optional)
Combine the sugar, pomegranate juice, and orange juice in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Whisk to combine.
Bring the mixture to a simmer, whisking occasionally.
Once the sugar has dissolved into the juices completely, turn the heat off.
Allow the syrup to cool completely before storing it in an airtight container in the fridge.
- Grenadine syrup often calls for orange flower water, but it's not exactly an easily accessible ingredient. A bit of orange juice can work as a substitute.
