Gingerbread Syrup

This Gingerbread Syrup is sweet and warmly spiced. It tastes just like fresh gingerbread, and is the perfect addition to all of your drinks.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup brown sugar packed
  • ½ cup white granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup water
  • 3 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • teaspoon ground allspice
  • teaspoon ground cloves
  • teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  • Add all of the ingredients to a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Whisk to combine.
  • Bring everything to a simmer and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Turn the heat off and allow the syrup to cool completely.
  • Strain out the solids and store the syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • You can extend the shelf life of your syrup slightly by adding about ½ ounce of plain vodka to the syrup
