- ¼ cup brown sugar packed
- ½ cup white granulated sugar
- ¾ cup water
- 3 tablespoons molasses
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ⅛ teaspoon ground allspice
- ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
- ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
Add all of the ingredients to a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Whisk to combine.
Bring everything to a simmer and simmer for 5 minutes.
Turn the heat off and allow the syrup to cool completely.
Strain out the solids and store the syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- You can extend the shelf life of your syrup slightly by adding about ½ ounce of plain vodka to the syrup
